Die römische Säule kehrt nun für einige Zeit zurück nach Pfyn. Das Amt für Archäologie wird sie so restaurieren, dass der Säulenschaft und die Basis – von denen man nicht weiss, ob sie zusammen gehören oder aufeinander gestanden haben – zum ersten Mal zusammen aufgestellt werden können. The roman column had been found in Pfyn: she was used while building the wall of the roman fortress. But it was not clear where she is coming from, being a part of a roman building in the 1. or 2. century AD. There can be found lots of stories about the origin of the column: it might have belonged to a temple in Tasgetium, where massive foundations have been found. Pfyn would wish to having had a column, too. The stone could be found near Schaffhausen or Aargau.For the last years the column had been in the cellar of the archeological museum in Frauenfeld and will return to Pfyn now for several years. She will be restored by the Amt fuer Archeology and the two parts – nobody knows whether they really belong together – will be presented for the first time together in the Transitory Museum in Pfyn.
